Primary Podiatry

 

Objectives

Ngati Hine Health Trust and other community podiatrists provide a primary podiatry service at a range of different venues.  This project aims to increase access to podiatric assessment and management forpatients with diabetes who are identified as having ‘at risk’ or ‘high risk’ feet.

Project

This service is provided from  a number of sites across the mid and far north and include:

Kaikohe, Moerewa, Kawakawa, Paihia, Russell, Kaitaia, Rawene, Kaeo  and Te Kao.

The podiatrist is equipped with tools to enable an efficient quality service.

Referrals

e-referrals must be made by the patient’s GP or nurse to ensure all aspects of the patients diabetes care are being addressed
