The several patients referred to secondary services with significant undiagnosed early peripheral vascular disease are a testimony to the value of early intervention from a primary podiatry service.
Five patients have had soft tissue surgery performed in the primary setting.
As well as direct patient services the podiatrist is providing training for nurses in routine assessment and care of the “uncomplicated” foot.
